Capitalism is targeting Inner Cities now because the community was turning into an African American community and it was never meant for that.

3.Why is New York City the Real Estate Capital of the World? And how does New York City effect/impact/encourage gentrification in Harlem and elsewhere?

New York City is the real estate capital of the world because the land is worth more than hundred billion dollars. New York City affects, impacts and encourages the gentrification in Harlem and other places due to the fact that New York has so many corporations and buildings that are worth so much that will want everything to change into bigger.

4.Who are these institutions that make up the Growth Machine? Who are FIRE, REBNY, and the real estate clans of New York? And what are their economic interests?

The institutions that make up the Growth Machine are the Real Estate Board of New York or REBNY. FIRE REBNY are finance, insurance and real estate. The real estate clans of New York are local people who represent the finance of New York. Their economic interest is that it happens because of the fast decline in state and federal aid growth in income.

New York City’s Real Estate Industry benefits from market collapses, dislocation, disasters, and tragic historical events so then they can buy the place and create a big expensive building that can be used for corporation purposes.

7. What is the role and function of REIT, and how does REIT impact the Real Estate industry?

The role and function of REIT is it represents the takeover of local estate by making a public trade investment and specialties in real estate equity. REIT impacts the Real Estate industry in the way that it being investors from all over the world together.

8. How does Land-Use Planning and Zoning impact Real Estate Development?

Land- Use Planning impacts Real Estate Development due to comparison to the first city planning because it was just planned but not viewed for the best for the future of the city. Zoning impacts Real Estate Development impact Real Estate Development because it is a principal way of land use regulation and used to organize neighborhoods and manage shape zoning.

9. Can building low-income housing be profitable in a capitalistic society?

Building low-income housing will not be profitable in a capitalistic society as much as it will be if the building would be for rich people.

10. How does the real estate industry create Inequality in low-income working-class communities? And what can community organizers and planners do to oppose and ally with the Real Estate Industry to create sustainable equitable community economic development?

The real estate industry creates inequality to low income working class communities because they have more stuff for the rich then for the poor. Community organizers and planners can give ideas where both the poor and rich can benefit and cause the equitable community and economic development.

The author has his reading in parts that show that he explains each part separately so that way it makes it easier for the reader to be able to know what they are specifically reading about. The author also shows a lot of detail and examples of past and present to give the reader a visual perspective and more background information to be able to know why something had affected the other or why something came to be.
