  In this article the abandonment and destruction of Harlem leading to gentrification  because of the change of the population. Due to the amount of people in that community can lead to gentrification. In the article it shows how there is some housing in Harlem that is abandoned or partially occupied. This can be a big reason because if buildings are not used then there will most likely be a chance in which people decide that that space can be used to occupy something else that people will be able to use. In addition, it explains the people’s “survival rate” in other words death rate. They do this by showing graphs of the rate and explaining how they mostly go to 65 years.  They also got graphs to explain birth rates. From this information getting from the census they were able to see what they would need and what is least unnessesary. Based on that they can decide what they want to be taken down to make room for something else. Furthermore, this article gives a lot of information on health rates. This can lead agan to knowing what people need. For example if there’s more people sick of something and there’s no pharmacy near them, there can be a discussion of getting a pharmacy where they are.

In this interview with Bob William, a crack user, we get information on how his life was as a crack user. He starts off by saying that we used up a lot of money in order to be able to get the crack. He explains how he first started using and how he felt while he was using it the very first time. He shows how even though cocaine and crack are the same drug, it’s different in the way that it is used or indused. In this interview the abandonment and destruction of Harlem leading to gentrification because it shows the destroyment of a  person to itself. He explains how he has watched many people waste even the last coin that they have just to obtain some cocaine. He says that if there’s any amount of money that a person has and a person walks into one of those places or goes to a group of people which are selling that , that person will not come out of there with the money. He also gives his experiences of what he has seen through him going to those places to smoke. One of the most interesting is how the mother would be so obsessed to go smoke to get high, they will leave their children outside waiting for them late at night or they would pay random people to just take care of them.
